Now that I had created both of my social media's that I will be using for this brand, the content posting has started. I have been using the Instagram page as the main source as this is a great way to show off my photography. My website is also very nearly finished and just needs a few final touch ups of it to make it look the best that it possibly can.
Using Facebook as my second form of social media was something that I had been debating. As of 2022, Facebook has 2.936 billion active users according to DataRePortal. For marketing, Facebook is the perfect social media to be using as it allows brands to be able to maintain relationships alongside being able to link it up to my Instagram therefore I am able to share the exact same content on both social media platforms.
A Facebook page that I discovered that I have found useful is named 'Travel Photography' by user MingleBee. I have noted that on the posts that a vast amount of hashtags are used to reach as much of an audience as possible. This has also made me very aware to make sure that all my page has all the correct information on it as this makes sure that it is consumer friendly and is appealing to the right people. Yet again, it appears as though in a sense the photography is doing the talking as although there are hashtags there is a very simplistic short mention of where the photograph had been taken alongside also tagging the location in the post. This is very similar as to what I mentioned in the previous post as to how creators on Instagram have been using their platform. I have also noticed while researching how photographers use their Facebook pages is that the profile pictures used across different social media platforms are the same to make their brand as clear as possible and is then recognisable to consumers. The 'About' section has links to other socials alongside an email. Looking at different Facebook pages has helped me figure out what I will need to incorporate to be successful yet a unique brand.
The colour scheme that appears on the Facebook page 'Amy Crocker - Photography' is using a simplistic black coloured profile picture while utilising her own photography in the header. The simplicity of using a plain colour is something I used myself, such as for my brand logo using a light grey colour while using this and a darker shade for my Instagram highlight covers. My covers although labelled as what they are, share different icons for example, my website has the Internet icon and Facebook has the 'F' logo. The icons being in the darker colour stands out against the pale colour behind it. However, grey is an reoccurring colour for my brand as this appears as the main colour on my website also.
