A Critically Reflective Look

Completing this module I have learned to create my own brand through the use of various techniques that would allow me to brand my social media pages in the best possible way. I have also improved and learned more about content creating and the skills needed to make a brand look professional alongside the more analytical skills such as researching into how other photographers are using their own brand.

A thing that I learned throughout this module is how to create a logo in the best way and the steps that are needed to do so, from the first initial design to then expanding on this to become a proper logo itself by the use of Photoshop. Using Wix to create my website has been an enjoyable experience as it is very easy to navigate and although I have used it in the past, I have furthered my skills on how to make a website look as professional as it possibly can be. Wix also makes sure that the website layout is as professional looking as possible while making sure all needed information is included, this is thanks to their adaptable templates available to use.

I have also learned about what specific techniques different social media's need to fulfil their potential. Such as the utilisation of Instagram stories and highlights to connect and interact with an audience and to just keep the Facebook page as simplistic as possible yet making sure the 'About' section is correctly done and the same content is shared on both accounts. For this module, it was required that a key piece of content was needed to be released to represent my brand and for this I decided on my content being my website. Therefore, I done a daily countdown on my Instagram and Facebook for this key piece of content to be released. This was something that excited me as I was proud to share the website that I had created and using a countdown created a buzz for the release date.

I have thoroughly enjoyed completing this module as content creating for social media is what I love to do and is something that I wish to be able to do for a job in the future. Once I have completed University I will be looking further into applying for jobs that allow me to create social media content therefore this module has taught me the needs of what is correct to be used on a professional social media platform. This has given me a taste of what it will be like working in the social media industry which is something that I'm thriving for.

Overall, I have enjoyed completing this module a great deal. I am very proud of the portfolio of work that I have created and have enjoyed every step of getting it so it's complete. If I was to do this module again, I would stick to just one type of photography rather than two as then it will be easier to regulate and to stick to themes that I wish it to be. Although by doing this I have been able to showcase my photography of travel and animals which is two of my favourite things to photograph.
